The Inn of Acadia is a first-class boutique hotel located in downtown Madawaska, at the heart of the beautiful St. John Valley of northern Maine. Our mission is to provide our guests with comfortable rooms and excellent service. We want you to have a great experience with us - sleep well in premium bedding, relax in the lounge with a cocktail or glass of wine, work out in the fitness studio, or explore the culture and nature of our region.
Whether you're here on business, visiting friends or family, hitting the trails or exploring the region, our friendly staff will help you get the most out of your stay. We are dedicated to making the Inn of Acadia a home away from home for you.
The Inn of Acadia is a family-run business operated by the descendants of French-Canadians who immigrated to the St. John Valley in the 1800's from present-day Québec. We're proud of our French heritage and love this place we call home. This is Our Acadia and we are looking forward to sharing our rich history, blend of cultures, natural beauty, and international setting with you.
Built in 1956, the Inn of Acadia is the former Mary of Mediatrix Convent of the Daughters of Wisdom ("Filles de la Sagesse"). Not long after the convent closed its doors in 1979, it became Wisdom House, a boarding and residential care home that we operated until 2003. The original building reflects a minimalist architectural style, which we strive to honor in our new Inn. We have completely renovated the interior with special attention to meeting the needs of our guests.
