We're only an hour from the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, the world famous Allagash Wilderness Waterway, and whale watching on the St. Lawrence Seaway in Québec. Add another couple hours and you'll be in Québec City, a World UNESCO site.

Secondary routes are 1A (pick up in Mars Hill to Van Buren, ½ hour east from Madawaska) and 161 (goes into Ste-Agathe, about 15 minutes south of Madawaska). From points in Canada: directions east or west, take the Trans Canada Highway (Route 2) into Edmundston, New Brunswick (NB), exit 18, about five minutes from the international border (St. John River) and Madawaska.
